Utilitybelt.png
Tool-belt
Found in: Tool closets, Maintenance
Used for: Holding all your tools
Strategy: Grab a toolbelt, put your tools in it
Description
Toolbelts can hold all your tools, so you don't have to carry around a toolbox or throw everything in your backpack. Engineers start with one by default.

Engineer-Hardsuit.png
Engineering voidsuit
Found in: Engineering EVA Storage, EVA
Used for: Going outside the station
Strategy: Use the suit cycler to set it up for your species and personal taste, then put it on.
Description
Voidsuits allow you to safely go EVA from the station. Voidsuits come in two pieces - a helmet and a suit; you can put magboots, an air tank, and a voidsuit helmet on the suit itself while it's not being worn to have them automatically deploy when you put them on. This one in particular also has some radiation shielding, so you can work near radiation for a bit longer than without anything on.

Suit cyclers will allow you to change the species it's for, as well as the design of the suit:

  • Engineering is the default suit you will see and is pictured above. It has decent radiation protection.
  • Atmos has better resistance against high temperatures, allowing you to vent a room on fire if necessary.
  • HAZMAT has better radiation protection and will in fact allow you to set up the Supermatter, but will not protect against blunt force trauma as well.
  • Construction is identical to Engineering.

Evasuit.png
Engineering RIGsuit
Found in: Engineering EVA Storage, EVA
Used for: Going outside the station
Strategy: Put it on your back, deploy.
Description
RIGsuits take some time to deploy, but will automatically adapt to your species' particular anatomy. Their helmets can be used as a breathing mask without needing a second mask on, and most (if not all) of them have some sort of inbuilt oxygen tank. While they occupy the backpack slot, if the chestpiece is deployed you can just sling your backpack on the suit storage slot.

This one in particular has enough radiation shielding to allow you to safely set up the engine, but has weaker blunt-force and explosion protection.
